Strawberry Shortcake Party Dessert Table

I knew I wanted a sweets/desserts table and I came across this site and created my own "make your own strawberry shortcake bar"!  I printed images of Strawberry and added my own words like "Oh so sweet, make yourself a treat" to the whipped cream. I also added a sample menu and framed it.
My awesome sister made strawberry shaped cake pops and regular chocolate cake pops on the center tier.  The ingredients for the dessert bar were:

Strawberries macerated
Whipped cream
Cheesecake pudding
Sliced angel food cake (store bought)

Toppings: pineapple, shredded coconut, nuts, mini-chocolate chips, nilla wafers and sprinkles

Making Paper Circle Garlands - Party Decor

Using a 1 inch and 3/4 inch hole punches, cut out a variety of colors.  For the strawberry shortcake themed birthday party I used red, light pink, hot pink, and lime green colors.
Stack them up in random order and have them ready next to your sewing machine because once you start you may want to go fast!

Don't waste your time by creating any particular order.  I started to do this then discovered the best part of these garlands were how random the colors and sizes were.  (see below it will make more sense :))

Finished product! I used thumb tacks and randomly placed them among tissue poms I purchased on Etsy.

Strawberry Shortcake Themed 1st Birthday Party

After months of planning, making, and setting up...we finally had Carrie's first birthday party last week!  I'll post more pictures and small decoration tutorial soon.

I was so excited when I decided on a theme right before Valentine's Day and the after-day specials. Strawberry shortcake for a first a birthday seemed like a cute and girly theme to work with.  Of course I also didn't want to over-do the theme and work around it by adding strawberries and the colors through out.
I started with the invitations which I purchased on etsy.

How to make a palm cross

Happy Palm Sunday! I like this you tube tutorial. All the other ones I found either were too long or did not have enough detail.

Zucchini Tots

I found these on Pinterest (my newest hobby).  I made the exact version and then I made a baby friendly version for my 11 month old.  In her version I left out the onion (but maybe next time I'll leave in some), and I also only used one egg yolk (no egg white for her until she turns 1).  My family loved these little appetizers as well as my vegetarian sister. To find the original post click here.

Ingredients:
1 cups zucchini, grated
1 egg
1/4 yellow onion, diced
1/4 cup cheese (cheddar or Parmesan work the best)
1/4 cup bread crumbs - I used Italian style
Salt and Pepper

Start by preheating oven to 400F. Spray a mini-muffin tin with non-stick spray, set aside.
Then chop up the onion finely (unless you prefer to have chunks of onion).
Mix in the egg, onion, bread crumbs, cheese (I ended up using 1/2 cup), salt and pepper to taste.
Grate zucchini or in my case use a peeler.  I used 1 whole zucchini then wrapped it in a paper towel to squeeze out excess water. Mix in Zucchini to the rest of the ingredients and scoop in to your mini-muffin pan. (you can fine one here)Bake for 15 minutes or until the top begins to brown.
Finished product! (the original recipe says it yields 12, however I got 23 and as you can see the cups weren't filled to the top). Let cool and enjoy!
